"... what must I do to be saved?"  Acts 16:30

1.  Admit that you're a sinner.

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear" (Isa. 59:2).  "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:10, 23).

 

2.  Realize the penalty for sin. 

"God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day" (Ps. 7:11).  "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God" (Ps. 9:17).  "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezek. 18:4).  "For the wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23a).  "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev. 20:14-15).  "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death" (Rev. 21:8).

3.  Believe that Christ died for your sins, was buried and rose again.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8).  "Christ died for our sins . . . He was buried, and He rose again the third day" (I Corin. 15:3-4).  "The Lord is ... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Pet. 3:9).

4.  Turn to Christ and by faith trust Him alone to save you.

"... except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Lk. 13:3).  "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (Jhn. 1:12).  "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 6:23b).  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation . . . For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:9-10,13).  "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (I Jhn. 5:12).

God desires for "all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (I Tim. 2:4).  He is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Pet. 3:9).  Won't you call upon Jesus from your heart and ask Him to forgive your sins and save your soul?  Do it today!  Don't delay!!
